  • Damp patches or green stains on the wallFrom water spilling over the gutter.
  • Rotten or flaking timber boardsOld painted fascias and soffits that have gone soft.
  • Plants growing in the gutterA sure sign it’s holding water.
  • Leaking joints and downpipesDrips at the joints or a broken downpipe bend.
  • Birds getting into the roof edgeGaps where the soffit or the eaves have come away.

Fascias and soffits in Lancashire: what we cover

  • uPVC fascias
  • uPVC soffits
  • New guttering
  • Downpipes and bends
  • Gutters realigned
  • Bargeboards
  • Eaves felt and bird guards

New fascias and soffits

Fascias carry the gutter and close off the roof edge; soffits close the underside. Old painted timber ones rot and flake. New uPVC boards don’t need painting, and fitting them with new guttering means the whole edge is done in one go.

Guttering repairs and new gutters

A lot of “roof leaks” are really gutters: blocked, sagging or misaligned so the water spills down the wall or backs up under the tiles. Gutters can often be realigned or given new joints and brackets; if they’re past it, we’ll say so. If the gutter is fine but water is still coming in, see roof leak repair.

Part of a bigger job

Fascias, soffits and gutters are often renewed at the same time as a re-roof or a new flat roof, because the scaffold is already up and the edge details tie in. When the eaves are opened up, what’s behind the gutter is on show too, from old felt to birds’ nests. See new roofs and flat roofing.

Questions

Fascia, soffit and guttering questions

How much do new fascias and soffits cost?

It depends on the length of the roofline, the boards and gutters, and access. You get the price before any work. The quote is free.

Can gutters be repaired rather than replaced?

Often, yes: realigned, or with new joints and brackets. If they’re past it, we’ll say so.

Do you fit fascias without replacing the roof?

Yes. Fascias, soffits and gutters can be done on their own.

Why is water coming over my gutter?

Usually a blockage, a sag or a gutter running the wrong way. Sometimes it’s too small for the roof above it.
